The chance to go to Antarctica was a total serendipitous moment! It was something I had pondered for years.. One minute, I was just going about my usual routine, and the next thing I knew, this incredible opportunity popped up out of nowhere. It was like the universe said, “Hey, here’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, go for it!”

There are a few ways to get to Antarctica, usually through Hobart (Tasmania), New Zealand, or Ushuaia (Argentina). But since COVID hit, the only way to get to the Antarctic Peninsula in early 2024 was through Ushuaia, Argentina.

Now, since Qantas doesn't fly to Argentina, we had to make our first stop in Santiago, Chile!

Argentina – the land of Malbec, Eva Perón, and the End of the World! Even though we were super excited to get to Antarctica, it would've been such a shame to just breeze through this incredible part of South America without soaking it all in.

While still in Argentina, our arrival at the End of The World (Ushuaia) felt like we had entered a parallel and ancient universe

Zemblanity is basically the opposite of serendipity. While serendipity is all about happy, unexpected surprises, zemblanity is when something unlucky or unwanted happens – and you kind of saw it coming!
